Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Invoxity ("we", "us"), which develops and operates InvoChef. By using InvoChef you agree to them. Please also read our privacy policy.

In short

Cook carefully: Chef helps, but you're in charge of your kitchen. Allergy and halal checks are a help, not a guarantee.
Your recipes stay yours. When you share or publish one, you let us show it to the people you chose.
Share only what's yours, and keep it kind: no copying, spam or offensive content.
The free plan has daily limits.

1. Who can use InvoChef

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use InvoChef with the permission of a parent or guardian. Children should cook with an adult.

2. Cooking safely

InvoChef gives cooking guidance. It isn't medical, dietary or nutritional advice.
Allergies, diets and halal: InvoChef checks recipes against the allergies and diets you tell it, and community recipes are checked for halal ingredients. These checks can miss things: ingredient names vary, packaged foods contain hidden ingredients, and recipes can be wrong. Always read the labels on what you use, and if an allergy is serious, don't rely on InvoChef alone.
Chef uses AI to answer you, and can make mistakes. Use your own judgement, especially about cooking times for meat, fish and eggs, food storage and hot oil.
Cooking involves heat, flames, sharp knives and hot liquids. Never leave hot oil unattended, and follow the safety notes in each recipe.

3. Your account

You can use InvoChef without an account; your phone gets an anonymous one. If you sign in with your email, keep access to that email secure: anyone who can read it can sign in. You're responsible for what's done with your account. You can delete it at any time (see how).

4. Your recipes and content

You keep ownership of what you create in InvoChef: recipes you write or dictate, your versions of recipes, notes, photos and your profile.
Private content (your cookbook, history and notes) is used only to provide the service to you: storing and syncing it, translating it into other languages, and helping Chef guide you.
When you share a recipe by link, send it to the community, or turn on a public profile, you give Invoxity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, format, translate, edit for clarity or safety, display and distribute that content within InvoChef and in materials that promote InvoChef, credited to the name you chose. For a shared link, this lasts until you stop sharing. For community recipes and a public profile, it lasts until you take them back or delete your account; copies that other people already saved to their own cookbook stay theirs.
You promise that what you share or publish is yours to share: your own recipe or your own version, not copied from a book, website or someone else, and that you took any photo you submit or have the right to use it.
We may review, edit (for example to add a safety note or fix a translation), decline or remove community recipes and public profiles, and we decide what appears in the catalog.

5. Community rules

Don't share or publish anything that:

copies someone else's recipe text or photos without permission;
is unsafe (dangerous methods, raw or undercooked food presented as safe) or falsely labelled (for example "halal" when it isn't);
is offensive, hateful, harassing, sexual, violent or illegal;
contains advertising, links, contact details or someone else's personal information;
impersonates a person or organization.

You can report a recipe or profile in the app. We may remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that break them repeatedly.

6. Imported recipes

When you import a recipe from a website, Chef rewrites it into steps for your own cooking. Imported recipes are for your personal use and to share with people you know by link. Please respect the original author: don't publish someone else's recipe as your own.

7. Free plan and Pro

The free plan has daily limits on Chef's answers, voice and imports. Some features are marked Pro. When Pro becomes available, its price and features will be shown in the app before you buy, and purchases will be made through Google Play (or the App Store) under their terms, including their refund rules.

8. Our content

The InvoChef app, its name and logo, and InvoChef's own recipes and photos belong to Invoxity or its licensors (photo credits are shown with each photo). You may use them for your own cooking. Don't copy the catalog, scrape it, or use it to build another service.

9. Using InvoChef fairly

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to get around limits or security, overload our servers, access other people's data, reverse engineer the app beyond what the law allows, or use automated tools to access it.

10. Changes and availability

We keep improving InvoChef, so features may change or be removed. We aim to keep it running, but can't promise it will always be available or error-free. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect; continuing to use InvoChef means you accept the new terms.

11. Responsibility

InvoChef is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, Invoxity isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for harm caused by relying on a recipe, a check or Chef's advice without using your own judgement. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be excluded, including those of your province or territory.

12. Ending

You can stop using InvoChef and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and will tell you why where we can.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which Invoxity has its registered office, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live in another Canadian province or territory, you keep the protection of the consumer laws that apply where you live.
